Yakiniku Champ Review Summary

The food at this restaurant was excellent, but our experience was severely marred by a terrible bearded male waiter. We arrived an hour before the last order, and from the beginning, his attitude was strange. At one point, he knocked over a spoon and fork without any acknowledgment or apology. Later, he mockingly asked us if something was funny (面白い). Finally, just as we finished grilling our last piece of meat, he abruptly cleared all our items away, as if he was eager to get rid of us. Such a great restaurant was completely ruined by this awful experience, which also spoiled the farewell gathering with my friends.

All was fantastic! Food felt like a better value than what we paid. Service was top notch and very accommodating of our child.

This restaurant is truly outstanding in so many ways! The meat quality is so fresh and excellent. They provide a sumi charcoal BBQ grill on your table. The customer service so sooo good. All staff is very well trained, friendly and extremely professional. We went two days in a row this trip to Tokyo. My wife and I can't wait until our kichijoji trip next year to go there over and over again!

We loved this Japanese barbecue restaurant. The quality of the beef was excellent, delicious salad and the staff were amazingly friendly. Highly recommend making the trip to this part of Tokyo for an affordable but top class restaurant. It’s downstairs so here’s a photo of the street level sign to help you find it.

I ordered a la carte for lunch, and the conclusion was that perhaps they are good at purchasing offal, but the skirt steak that came with the platter and the striped mackerel that I ordered separately were delicious, and I felt that the customer service was as good as the other comments.

The thick-sliced ​​beef tongue marinated in salt koji for several days seemed to have different tastes. Unfortunately, as you can see in the picture, the short ribs are unthawed and have frost on them, so you have to wait until they thaw. The meat, which looked like beef fat slices with almost no redness, was tough for adults, so I paid the bill without ordering more.
