Ichiban! Local vibe kinda yakiniku, super friendly staffs despite they don’t speak much English (but there is English menu so no worry). Food is amazing, my personal favourites are thick-cut tongue, cheek & ribs. The staffs helped us with the grilling and recommended which sauce/dipping the meat should go with. Definitely a great experience! 👍🏼

We decided to try Futago to get our yakiniku fix in Japan and we loved it so much that we had to come back for our last dinner before we went home! Initially, we thought this was going to be the fancy Futago that we used to have in Hawaii, but it was way more relaxed-which we preferred over fancy anyway! Everything about the experience was great. The atmosphere is so lively, the staff are super friendly, and the food is excellent. They also have an English menu so very helpful if you don’t know Japanese. We went in around 6:00 pm on a Friday night and they were able to seat our part of 4, but they seem to get busier later in the evening (and it’s a very small restaurant). This restaurant is on the must visit for us when we go back to Japan!

If you're looking for a more authentic yakiniku experience, come here. Our party of 4 visited this restaurant on a whim since we hadn't yet eaten yakiniku on our Japan vacation. As with most Japanese restaurants that cater to locals more than tourists, the restaurant is tiny and no frills as far as furniture and decor goes. However, they more than make up for it in deliciousness of food. Honestly some of the best yakiniku I've had, aside from those ultra fancy joints. Everything tasted better than we expected and then atmosphere is so high energy. To prove how much we loved it, we came back again on our very last night in Japan. Each time the place was full and we were always the only foreigners but they were very welcoming and helpful.

I highly recommend getting the kalbi shabu and the shabu wrap special that comes with grated radish, chives, and a special sauce, all rolled up into the perfect bite.
