Yamagishi Description

Yamagishi is a hidden gem located in Kyoto, Japan, offering a unique dining experience that combines the art of Japanese cuisine with the comfort of a relaxed atmosphere. As the sister restaurant of the renowned Michelin one-star restaurant, Tomikoji Yamagishi, Yamagishi aims to provide guests with a taste of their exceptional 'nabe kaiseki' (hot pot course) in a more accessible setting.

The rustic decor and intimate private rooms add to the overall charm, making it an ideal place for a special occasion or a memorable dining experience.

In addition to the dining experience, Yamagishi also offers a selection of specialty products for sale, including sweets and souvenirs, as well as nationwide delivery of their signature hot pot. Opted for the shark fin in turtle broth course (June) and loved it! Plenty of high end sake like Juyondai & Aramasa by half carafe options. Main chef is really friendly too! Truly enjoyed all the dishes here.

One of the best kaiseki meal I ever had. Traditional and modern at the same time. The flavor just so elegant and special that hard to describe. The handroll sushi was so good I was ready to order extra but I was too full.
