To-die-for grilled Unagi in an island of peace and calm in bustling Ueno. The all-female staff was welcoming and the food was flawless. Traditional down to the tatami floor—with chairs—and polished wood (and patient food preparation, which requires a half-hour to reach meltingly delicious perfection). They have an English menu and at least one of the charming wait staff spoke good English. Highly recommended.


What you would expect from a good Unagi restaurant. The taste is great. The tables are roomy. The prices are high.


Traditional unagi restaurant. Service is friendly but they do not have an English menu. Eel is freshly prepared to each order. Nice to experience but we were unable to try anything else other than the normal eel in a rice box.
