We arrived around 13:50 and the lady said no dine in service but we can sit inside the dine in place😅 Waited for 15 mins beside which is hot and what we had is a so fresh-made grilled eel bento and soooo delicious!
The only con is bento box is a form box which is not very eco-environment😅

Tuck in a small corner of the street. Very unassuming restaurant that only has ungai on the menu. Perfectly cooked eel on a bit bed of perfectly cooked rices. Condiments on the side. With complimentary vegetable pickle and soup that rounds up the experience. Small pace with 5 tables that could fit 5 party of 4 people. They have an English menu and the staff that waits speaks English.

We went on a day when it was surprisingly not too crowded and were.seated within 10 minutes. The seating area itself is like a mystical dining room up the staircase of an old house with just three tables, and you walk through the amazing smell of charcoals and unagi to get there.
Once seated, the menu is pretty simple. It is expensive but worth the price! The unagi was fresh and delicious, and eating in this ambience has a meditative feel to it.

Update. Returned for a late lunch. The service was fast. The take-out menu only has a few choices. I ordered the mid-range. The unagi was pretty good. The skinside wasn't as crispy as I would have liked, but it also wasn't chewy. There seemed to be a lot of fat under the skin, which made the unagi creamier. It was nice. The pickles were too salty, and there wasn't enough rice. Overall, it was tasty.
Went on a weekday for a late lunch. I ordered the large eel bento. I didn't eat it right away, but it was still really good. I'll go back and eat in and see if that changes my rating.

The grilled eel and liver here are so good, and you get to enjoy the meal in a traditional tatami setting. If you are ever in the area, this place is definitely a must!
