Yayoi Review Summary

This place is amazing. The owner speaks great English and is a ton of fun. We had the pork steak and the katsu don and a side of gyoza. The meals came with pickles and miso soup.

The food was great, and the place is tons of fun. Sumo wrestling on the TV, the owner explained a bit what was happening, and then some drama came on about a man who eats food at various restaurants, and he walked into the restaurant we were in and ate the meal we just ate!

The place is fantastic, fun, delicious, surreal. An amazing experience and everything I love about Japan.

Came here for lunch with my son just by watching where the locals are waiting in line. Been travelling criss cross Japan now for six weeks and finally found the schrimp portion I have been looking for. This place offers you honest,well cooked food with cozy and friendly athmospere and reasonable price. I shall visit here as many time as possible before we leave Tokyo.

That’s why Tokyo is good in winter - come to Japan in winter - no crowds and eating at top chef place by myself and no one else here except his assistant - jackpot - AND he has the Elvis Presley movie on TV. My childhood idol. Microphone drop !

Waiting was very long, and food was okay but not worth both the price and the wait. I ordered the katsudon, and there was too much rice, and the meat was very chewy.
The chef was kind and spoke English though.

This place is just amazing, if you're in asakusa please visit!
I recommend the age -wantan and the pork steak.
