Best food experience in all of Kyoto!!
Chef Sato is a funny, charming and a great cook! The food was out of this world delicious.
I don’t normally do reviews but when I read some of the negative reviews from here I got a bit sad on his behalf! Everything was outstanding!
If I could recommend one restaurant in Japan this should be it!
Thanks for a wonderful time 🙏🏼

Delicious, creative dishes by a gifted chef. Incredible fresh flavors..informal but welcoming, limited English but it all works! Worth the time.and money. In English the name is Yukifuran Sato. (2018)
Second dinner October 2019:
Even better than the first time. Menu featured fishes and eel, with beef as the final course. Everything delicious, unexpected touches. Plan on at least 2-1/2 hours for the 9 course kaiseki menu. Chef is gifted, approachable. We used Google translate! Highly recommend andcwye will be back next trip.

A very cosy, non-pretentious place that is really about food and the quality of food. Could tell that the Chef Sato puts a lot of effort and thought into each dish. The execution on each dish was precise and delivered great taste!! He prepares it piping hot to serve, which explains the long service time (~3hrs). Although he does not speak English, the chef was friendly. Great experience!
