It’s always fun to find a new restaurant in your hood. Even nicer when the food, drink, and service is excellent!
Over some great sake, and with the frequent help of Google Translate, we learned that the chef trained at culinary school focusing on Italian cuisine. He also worked at the Prince Park hotel near Shibakoen. His cuisine in this restaurant is a blend of those traditional techniques with Japanese fare. It leads to delightful, surprising combinations of fresh fish, umami explosions, and wonderful sake pairings.
It’s hard not to feel like you’ve known him, and his trusty waiter Mr. Fuji, forever - especially with the open kitchen concept and the patient way that he explains the menu.

Thank you, Fours! Friends introduced this Meguro gem and I was blown away. Seasonal, inventive Izakaya, easily found and happily returned. Their sweet and savory white peach and fresh mozzarella Caprese is the best reason I’ve found to actually look forward to Tōkyō summers. See you again, soon!

Delicious food and really delightful staff. A great bistro find! We had the wagyu beef the mousse and the gratin... they were all delicious...
Update: we went back. They were reluctant to seat us again (like the first time). But the waitress warmed up and really helped us with great service. This time we had the tai with wasabi cream, the bavarois, the asparagus with Sea trout and a side of fries. Everything was excellent. High quality food for the right price. They should serve alcohol because let's be real...
