Kufuku Review Summary

[4th or 5th visit]

As always, modern-Japanese, well-done, dishes with a nice twist:
Be it the wonderful non-alcoholic pairing for those who don't enjoy drinking but still want to have something more than a Coke, or the special ingredients, with one or a few interesting and unique hero ingredients in each course.

In my last visit, with a focus on fermentation, again there was a lot of interesting and delicious discovery, but some dishes were misses (the wagyu main came out almost cold, the closer was a very standard ramen that didn't fit the rest of the menu). Regardless of some minor imperfections, a great experience, a great atmosphere and interior, wonderful drinks, and totally recommended to go.

I need 6 or more stars to rate this restaurant. 5 isn't enough. With the food, atmosphere, and service quality from the chef and the team, current price is much more than worth.

We were greatly impressed with the quality and presentation of the fish dishes, cod fish, sardines, blowfish etc. Every course was a delightful surprise with non alcohol pairings. The beets cranberry chocolate dessert was smooth and full of flavour. It was the best meal we had in Tokyo. Definitely we will come back again. Thank you chef Ichikawa.

I really enjoy this place and I think it totally worth the money. I have been to some other Michelin star French restaurants in Tokyo and tbh some of those didn’t really taste as good as here. It is in a very lovely traditional style Japanese wooden house and the inner decorations are very nice. The waitress doesn’t speak English well but she tried hard to communicate. The food was yummmmmm and maybe I will try the drink pairing next time. In general, I would definitely recommend to my friends when they visit Tokyo

The course was perfect, everything was tasty and surprising, deer meat 🥩 was perfectly cooked, drink and wine selection was good, and the dessert was light and fruity, perfect to finish the faultless dinner👍🏼
We were seated at the second floor, which is typical Japanese interior, wood and tatami. There is also a wine cellar, in a old cold room 🍷
Price is deserved, the quality is high !
