Ramen Shichisai Description

Located in the heart of Tokyo, Ramen Shichisai is a hidden gem that stands out among the bustling dining scene of the city. Specializing in authentic Japanese ramen, this restaurant has been recognized as one of the top 100 ramen shops in Tokyo by the prestigious Ramen Tokyo Guide.

What sets Ramen Shichisai apart from other ramen establishments is their dedication to quality and attention to detail. The chefs at Ramen Shichisai have mastered the art of creating rich and flavorful broth that is simmered for hours to perfection. Each bowl of ramen is carefully crafted with fresh ingredients and topped with succulent slices of tender chashu pork, perfectly cooked noodles, and a variety of toppings that add depth and complexity to the dish.

One of the standout menu items at Ramen Shichisai is their signature Shoyu Ramen. The broth is a harmonious blend of soy sauce and other secret ingredients, resulting in a savory and umami-packed flavor that will leave you craving for more. Another must-try is their Tsukemen, a dipping ramen where the noodles are served separately from the broth. This allows you to savor the thick and chewy noodles by dipping them into a rich and flavorful broth, creating a unique and satisfying dining experience.

The restaurant itself exudes a cozy and traditional atmosphere, with wooden furnishings and warm lighting that create a welcoming ambiance. Whether you're a ramen aficionado or simply looking to indulge in a delicious and comforting meal, Ramen Shichisai is the perfect destination for an authentic and unforgettable ramen experience in Tokyo.

This is our first stop when arriving Tokyo, just tried to get something quick and easy. The atmosphere was amazing, you get greetings from the staff member from the second walk into the door. Ordering system was easy to navigate. The ramen was perfectly cooked, however it may due to the personal taste preference we found the soup and pork a bit salty than expected.

Although Ramen Shichisai is located slightly further away from the usual hustle and bustle of tourist spots but still expect a queue as it is popular among locals.

I've tried their niboshi special ramen (no.6 in the menu photo I've attached) and it is really good. Its broth is created with dried anchovies, giving it strong flavours. To some, it might seem to be a bit fishy, but that is quickly balanced by the copious amount of negi (spring onions) they include into the bowl. The sous vide pork thigh and belly were moist and tender, cooked to perfection.

What truly stands out though, at Shichisai is its noodles. They were freshly made to order with the chef diligently rolling, tossing and thumping the flour to create a nice chewy texture.

At ¥1,700 a bowl, the ramen is priced on the high side, but still well worth the money imho.

I would definitely visit again.

Looking for hearty vegan Dan Dan noodles? This is your spot. They make the noodles in front of you and the ticket machine has the vegan option clearly labeled in English. The chefs are super fast and will also be the ones to serve/“wait” on you. This is a vegan-friendly restaurant so be ready for the smell of meat.
