It is a famous bean curd store which makes variety of bean curds, soybean drinks, and related products. Its official English name is "Sagatofu Morika Co Limited".

The store is located beside Seiryoji Temple, and it is known for the Kyoto residents who may drive their cars simply to buy its products, although it is seldom known to the foreign tourists.

Actually, the Store is a current member of 100 Old Stores in Japan, and all of the stores have survived for three generations in management.

Buyers can order the just-made products for freshly taste, including fried tofu or bean curd balls which have flaxseed, onion and other vegetable ingredients inside. The Store has more individual consumer-customers or retailing customers who may drive from various regions of Kyoto just to buy its products. The Store welcomes the customers even with one order, and the staffs are friendly and patient.

This renowned tofu shop is likely to have long lines at holidays and weekends. Sagadofu is famous and served (quite expensively) at a nearby restaurant. You can take some home and prepare it yourself! Everything I've tried from here has been excellent.
