Food tastes good. Nonetheless, it is relatively pricey for the quality so I give it a 4 star rating. We initially plan to go to 大文字 but it was closed on that day. So, we went to this place as our Plan B.

Friendly and patience costumer service. Although no English menu, their unagi is so soft, worth the travel and try! Their sauce is great too! Can tell the boss is passionate and many experience about the food he served!

Located in a quiet residential area, the restaurant exudes a traditional homey feeling. Seeing that we were tourists, the server immediately brings an English menu and allowed us much time to decide what we want. If you prefer the thick unagi sauce associated to the Singapore Man Man restaurant, you will be disappointed. Takahashi's sauce is light but flavourful, and the eel is grilled to tease out the softness of the meat. The chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) is a must order - smooth and packed with ingredients such as chestnut, shrimp and chicken. The rice is a tad dry. Overall, this is a place worth hunting down for.

The restaurant ambience is good but foods are abit pricey. We ordered tempura and unagi set meals, tempura was good but expected more from unagi. Overall, the service is good and recommend to go for a try. Here’s the menu without English translation.
