Una-fuji Review Summary

i had a very lovely grilled eel (unagi) meal here!

i first booked via tabelog, but the shop cancelled my reservation, and left a message that they couldn't contact me by phone. then i booked again and stated to contact by email only since i was using a roaming data card in japan. finally it went fine with the booking.

the set was chosen in advance when i booked online. it was a very full set with appetizers, eel bowl and dessert; that's very deluxe for a lunch set.

there were 9 things to eat from the appetizer platter. the shirako, crab rice ball and oyster were amazing. each food they cooked it individually, and each had its unique flavour.

then it came the main star of the set - the eel bowl. it was made to order so came as very hot and full of steam! smelled really good. the eel was just cooked and very juicy in the middle with crispy grilled edge. i'd say it tasted good even without the sauce! it went so well with the japanese local rice. then the set ended up by a almond pudding.

the staff did come up and apologies for cancelling the booking, can tell their sincerity and no worries, it was all fine ;)

it's a great place for eel bowl and i definitely recommend it.

Visited for the first time during lunch time on Doyo's Day of the Ox.

In order to have a daily reward and to nourish my energy to survive the midsummer heat, I took the initiative and ordered the special eel rice bowl.

From the moment you put it in your mouth, the meat is so soft that it melts without even having to chew, and the sauce is fragrant and goes perfectly with the rice. I was so happy that I wanted to keep it in my mouth for a long time, and it was so delicious that I didn't want to finish eating it ☺︎

Next time I would like to visit the night session as well.

It was a very delicious dish.
It wasn't just the eel jus, but everything from appetizers to shirayaki, skewers, a la carte dishes, and desserts was all very crowded. I made a reservation in advance and visited on a weekday night, so I was able to spend a relaxing time without having to wait. I was also very satisfied with the staff's service. The restaurant is often full on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and many customers make reservations in advance to visit the restaurant on both weekends and weekdays.

This is my favorite and highly recommended eel restaurant.

It was a great value course where you could enjoy a delicious eel dish little by little.

There were also many other menu items that were only available for weekday lunch, so I'd like to try those next time.
