Boulangerie Jin

The croissant is really good, probably the best you can get in a 100km radius. The shop itself is a cute little place out in the country and it’s really beautiful. The prices are really good (200yen for croissant) and I can’t wait to try more of the breads. Pain au chocolat was really good too.

The shop is cash only so be prepared for that. Also enter the shop one group at a time as it’s really small. Also don’t take pictures inside the shop, I was told off for it because I didn’t see the little no pictures sign below the counter :( nonetheless a fantastic boulangerie, would come here again!

Well, its one of those "Been there, done that" places in Japan - the middle of nowhere bakery that is 25 mins out of Hirafu. Croissants are indeed something to rave about.
3 main things to note when visiting the bakery:
1) Only 1 group at a time into the bakery. Wait outside
2) No toilets. Nearest one is 5 mins away Konbini at Makkari town
3) No photography inside

I wanted to visit this place for a long time, after reading the book about this place, letters exchanged between Jin, and the architect Nakamura. It was out of nowhere and hard to get to place. I took a taxi and it cost me a fortune. But it was worth it. Amazing place, kind owner, and interior and everything was as I expected. Breads were good as well. I only wish I could met Jin. Hopefully I go back one day!

I am very lucky to be introduced to this Amazing bakery which is situated right in a forest. 😍 Its pastries are amazingly good, especially the chocolate croissants. The butter croissants are fantastic.
Go for the chocolate croissants..
They will sell you 6 pcs only.. lol 😂.. To be fair to other queuing customers.
