This is the best tea house I have been to in my entire life. I have been to hundreds. It is an oasis of Black tea in the desert of Green tea that is Japan.

We were visiting Japan from Britain and had not had a cup of good proper Yorkshire tea in three weeks. Not only was it genuine Yorkshire Gold tea, but the proprietor brewed it to PERFECTION before serving it. They even removed the leaves so it did not over steep. The care and love imbued in this service was phenomenal. I do not exaggerate when I say I was brought to tears by the tea and service provided. I may go my entire life without experiencing this again and I am willing to accept that I may have reached the peak of tea experience.

The menu is not in English, but most of the teas are katakana so can be sounded out. Alternatively, Google Translate's picture function works fine. There is a vast array of high quality black teas for selection. You can find many great tea houses in Japan that serve green and macha tea, but I have found none that can match this establishment for black tea.

The décor is conveys a true love of tea. I especially enjoyed the delft blue china set. You can purchase an array of black tea leaves which I recommend if you visit here early in your trip and need a reliable source of builder's tea. We had a dessert akin to a soft lemon eton mess which paired great with the tea, and all of the options seemed great.

If you are in Tokyo and enjoy black tea, this tea house alone makes the trip to Kamakura worth while. I will hold it's memory as the highlight of my trip to Japan. If I ever visit again visiting here will be the first and last thing on my itinerary.

Their snow cake is absolutely divine! Light and fluffy but not overly sweet. Order the set and balance the sweetness with their nice selection of tea and enjoy the coziness of this small quiet cafe. It is located rather far from train station but definitely well worth the trip

Great ambiance and an excellent selection of fine teas.

Delightful tea room with a massive tea selection from about 3 different continents. 6 varieties of chai, 20+ black tea and more... Would be nice if they had more outdoor seating.

Good environment. Comfortable place to relax for a bit. Unique food, that is acceptable to a western tongue.
