I had both the madeleine and financier. They were soft but not entirely flavourful - I found better financier options in Japan.

Though I like everything butter, their baked goods that I’ve tried (madeleines, financiers, big square cookies, pastries, slice of pound cake)seem to have only one note: butter. The experience of eating them become a little boring. Maybe I shouldn’t buy so many! : )) There were no lines when I got there in the late afternoon. BTW Google Maps took me around and around blocks before I could find the place. I think it’s because of the high-rise buildings inhibiting the signals.
I didn’t double check my orders and found out later that the clerk there had added in the bag a tin box of the big cookies I didn’t order.
I’ll return to buy a slice of their chocolate pastries, though. ; )

I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the cake. Might try the signature dessert next time (it was sold out when I went there)
