Our top spot for 'Jingisukan' (Lamb BBQ) which is a classic Hokkaido tradition. Featuring locally sourced meats from the Shari and Tokachi regions in the east, they are as fresh as you can get. No gamey taste. Also try the lamb tongue and 'yukhoe' which is lamb sashimi served with a raw egg yolk in the center!

Jengisu-kan or ジンギスカン as it is written in Japanese is a very popular dish of Hokkaido. Barbecued lamb is served with grilled veggies and a tart but sweet dipping sauce. Unfortunately a lot of the meat in Japan is imported. But not hear. They source some fantastic Hokkaido reared lamb. They also have a fabulous wine list and a special course plan for tourists who are unsure of what to get.
