Hakone Sagamiya

Tasty tasty tasty! So glad I brought some back home to Toronto. My favorite snacks from my three week trip came from this shop! The shop staff were very helpful with me and my friend's indecisiveness. Can't wait to visit Hakone again. This is one of the main reasons for me to come back again!

A bakery combined Japanese and western style dessert. Make sure to get the famous Fuji mountain brownie. A Japanese adopted brownies variation. More like a pond cake. Sold in slices and whole cake in a box. The sweetness is just about right, very fruity and nutty.

It's great to go on a food tour in Hakone, where you can eat all kinds of delicious food just by walking around in front of Hakone Yumoto Station. Sagami-ya is one of the shops in front of the station.

This is a shop that sells baked goods and gelato made with nuts. The inside of the store is stylish and there is an eat-in space, so it's a great place to take a break after a walk and have some gelato.

Gelato is on sale and you can have it inside the store. I chose mango and strawberry. As you can see when you look at this, there's a lot going on. It's a normal portion, but it's a volume that makes you wonder if it's okay to serve so much gelato.

I ate the mango gelato and it was delicious. The sweetness of the mango is complemented by the mildness of the milk, making it a gelato with a very pleasant texture. I stop by this place when I want to eat some cool sweets.

"Nuts Vessel", which has been hailed as Hakone's new standard, is highly recommended! Sweet souvenirs that don't melt are convenient.
The good location right in front of the station is also helpful.

There were no customers before 3pm on holidays.
Honestly, the exterior looks quite worn out, and even has a melancholy feel to it...
The store clerk also has zero commercial interest, for better or worse.
If I didn't know about the reputation of this restaurant, I would have definitely given it a miss. (Excuse me)

There seemed to be subdivided sizes available, but I wonder if this store doesn't carry them?
Or maybe it was sold out that day?
At a souvenir shop in front of Gora Station, I saw an item half the size of this one without a box.

I bought it thinking it would be a little big for my house, but it turned out to be correct.
It was delicious and so dangerous that I ate it all up...(^_^;)
The crunchy texture is the best!
I'm addicted to this♪

When I come to Hakone, I definitely want to buy some and take it home.
