Very good kaiseki meal at Toraguro. Super friendly staff serving us including chef masashi takami, featuring some very interesting ingredients like mountain vegetables, super fresh seafood and even soft shell turtles.

Really delicious Kaiseki meal in the basement of the imperial hotel. It’s huge down there and there’s a few restaurants so give yourself a few extra minutes to find it. Once you walk in, you are seated in a beautiful setting where the chef’s are at a counter that looks more like a sushi restaurant than a traditional Kaiseki meal. We were seated at the counter and immediately attended to by a very capable staff who helped us choose a delicious Sake. The team here speaks plenty of English to easily get by the and the Chef’s are great to interact with. You’ll try some interesting things and it’s always dependent on what’s in season - it was the only place in our 8 days in Japan where we had soft shell turtle for instance. It was a great meal and I’d highly recommend it for michelin star rated Kaiseki in Tokyo.
