Amoroso

Yesterday, a good friend introduced me to a hidden gem in Tokyo: an extraordinary Italian restaurant unlike any other I've visited. Without his recommendation, I might never have discovered this place, but now I find myself eager to spread the word.

This Japanese Italian restaurant is truly a one-man show. The chef, a true professional, exhibits a creativity with Italian cuisine that can only be described as out of this world. From the appetizers to the main course, each dish was a delightful surprise, showcasing a unique blend of Italian tradition and innovative flair.

But what truly sets this place apart is the wine pairing. The quality of the wine selection was impeccable, each bottle carefully chosen to complement the flavors of the meal. It's rare to find such attention to detail, and it elevated the dining experience to a whole new level.

Service was warm and attentive, the ambiance inviting, and the pricing exceptionally fair and reasonable. I can't praise this place enough.

If you find yourself in Tokyo with a craving for something special, don't miss this superb Italian restaurant. Whether you're a fan of traditional Italian fare or eager to try something new, I highly recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

On May 14th, 2023 we were invited to dinner at Amoroso. Dinner is an understatement as it was a feast of many taste explosions complemented by matching wines. A wonderful evening and the 3 hours at Amoroso flew by. Many thanks to our hosts and the wonderful boss, who spoiled us so well and at the same time entertained us with anecdotes.

I’ve been to Japan more than a dozen times and our night at Amoroso was a highlight!
Generosity of spirit and superb umami flavours with several courses and tastings along with matching wines and spirits made this evening a delight. Chef, host and raconteur in one … thank you for the most memorable evening.

A fabulous evening with chef Maeda. His dishes are interesting and creative and deliciously paired with Italian wine. Speaking both English and Japanese, he interacts effortlessly with his guests. A one-man show, it is lovely to watch him work. Definitely will be back for more!

Delicious food and amazing selection of wine.
Vibe at the restaurant is pretty fresh and nice.
It is a small place but aesthetically pleasing. Exactly my type of restaurant.
