We went here for the beer, but loved the staff! We had such a great time talking with everyone! We loved the pizza - we like ours crispy. The sauce was good and actual fennel sausage they make in house. We ordered a pepperoni pizza - ate that and ordered the sausage pizza and ate that! Most like American pizza we have come across so far. I hade a nice light ale and my husband had stout - we both really liked the beer. It’s a small place so during high volume times you might need a reservation. We hit the place at 5 pm before the big rush so we lucked out. Felt like our neighborhood bar in NH. We definitely will be back!

I have now been to 3 of the Bairds Beer locations in Japan, Harajuku, Yokohama and now Nakameguro. The Yokohama (Bashamichi to be exact) location in my opinion has the best food and quite possible some of the best Brisket BBQ in this part of Japan (will need to make Bashamichi location review separately). Back to Nakameguro location. Overall it is a Nice space located on upper floors which makes it a little tricky to find. It is a good place for small groups or just by yourself to enjoy a few beers and an easy bite to eat. All of the beers are quite good, fresh and consistent with what is served at the other locations with a good selection of their standard beers along with their seasonal beers. If you are lucky they do have hand pumped real ales which are English style pub ales served slightly warmer and with less carbonation. I am a huge fan of this traditional style of beer. The staff is nice enough and most are expats that can speak Japanese and English if you are visiting from out of town. When you are in Nakameguro and have a craving for a good craft beer, Bairds is a place I do recommend.

I came for a large work party and was very pleased with how helpful the English-speaking staff were in accepting a reservation of 20 and being flexible when our numbers changed. The service was great, I personally enjoyed every beer I tried from both their seasonal and permanent menus (and I tried multiple sets so lots of beers). Their porters were particularly good. I wouldn’t say the pizza is exceptional, but I did enjoy that too. Very reasonably priced.

The bartending staff was awesome. I'm a dumb gaijin and was getting a bit of Japan fatigue. It was nice to have a conversation with some of the bartenders and they gave us some recommendations for things to do. All the beers I tried were well done (thought the scotch ale had a bit too much hop character for the style, but was overall pretty enjoyable. I brew beer for a living, this is just my opinion. YMMV.) and the pizza was pretty good.

If you like craft beer and you're in Japan, Baird tap rooms are definitely worth a stop. They have multiple locations throughout Tokyo.
