Fortnum & Mason is a bakery shop located 1 minute walk from Mitsukoshimae Station on all Tokyo Metro lines.
This is a brand with a history that was founded in 1707 and is a purveyor to the British royal family, and is said to be the first store to open in Japan.
In Japan, it is the 4th year of the Hoei era.
In other words, it was born in the middle of the Edo period!
Well, it was around the evening of a weekend when I visited. There was a line of several people at the store, but I was able to purchase the item I wanted in about 5 minutes.
Please see below for what you purchased.
・Scone (tea)
・Scone (raisin)
・Chili & Sausage
Apparently, this scone is so popular that it has even been featured on TV, so I bought some tea and raisins to try it out, and was pleasantly surprised when I tried it.
When you think of scones, you have the image of being hard and falling apart in your mouth, but these scones are fluffy and soft. And it melts in your mouth!
The black tea has a nice aroma of Earl Gray tea leaves, and the raisins have an irresistible sweet and sour raisin accent. Personally, the tea scones left an impression on me!
The chili & sausage was also quite delicious, and the juicy sausage went perfectly with the chili sauce. The sour dough has a crunchy texture and is quite delicious!
This time I only bought scones and bread, but I wish I had bought tea as well. Following what is! is not it.
I highly recommend the tea scones.
