They have a nice bakery including pastries and sandwiches. Ground floor is a small shop only for take away but if you go downstair, they also have a small cafe where you can enjoy a brunch time. I recommend the bread box! Can try 8 kinds of bread!!

I came across Katane Bakery while walking to Shimokitazawa back in 2018. During my last trip this past Oct.'23 my Airbnb host recommended it and I was surprised when I arrived that I had been there before! I had one of the best chocolate croissants on par with the best bakeries here in SF, CA. The small meringues were also excellent. As you can see I've already made short work of the croissant...

Used to be a really outstanding bakery, until maybe one or two years ago.
It is still a good place but prices have gone up, size down and some pastries are not as rich as they used to be.
Opening hours are on the short side and often there is a queue.
Having said so, I still shop here when the queue is short.
