L'eau Description
L'eau, a French restaurant located in Tokyo, is a hidden gem that offers a unique dining experience. The name 'L'eau' translates to 'water' in French, and this concept is beautifully reflected in both the cuisine and the ambiance of the restaurant. The chef, Takamitsu Shimizu, is dedicated to showcasing the natural flavors of Japan's finest ingredients, while also incorporating elements of water, leaves, soil, and stones into his dishes.
The menu at L'eau is carefully curated to highlight the seasonal ingredients and to create a harmonious balance of flavors. The dinner course, recommended for a special occasion, consists of around 10 exquisite dishes, including four types of amuse-bouche. For lunch, there are two options available: a seven-course meal featuring three types of amuse-bouche, and a weekday-exclusive six-course meal. Each course is thoughtfully prepared and presented, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
The restaurant itself exudes sophistication and elegance, with a refined and luxurious atmosphere. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the beautifully plated dishes to the impeccable service. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a memorable lunch, L'eau is the perfect destination for those seeking a truly exceptional dining experience.

L’eau restaurant was one of the best dining experiences I had in Tokyo. I had the lunch set menu (10.08.24).
Everything was perfectly curated and each course reflected a beautiful representation of summer in Japan. I was able to taste and feel different ingredients from different prefectures.
The chef has a lot of personality to show his guests and I suggest you go and see and taste this restaurant for yourself.

Not sure when they will earn a Michelin star but the effort the Chef and his team made leave us an unforgettable experience. Artistically arranged and creative use of ingredients.
