Trattoria Quarto Nishi Shinjuku

Went here for a small company group dinner and reserved course meals.
Other than the carpaccio and fritters, everything else was pretty bad. The pasta didn’t have much taste, and the steak was way too chewy so much so that we had left 80% of the big plate untouched.

The place has plenty of tables, but I felt that there was not ample space between groups to fully enjoy - I could easily hear other people’s conversations so I was always concerned if someone was listening to ours.

Service was OK, nothing to complain about. But it was just a bit weird how too strict they were with the time and asking us to leave as soon as we had paid.

Truly, unbelievable sitting in here over 10 minutes nobody even comes over. They definitely do not want any non-Japanese in this place. Do not come here. I think they do pretty busy, but definitely a no go second time I’ve been treated badly. My fault for coming back.

Great Italian restaurant. For less than 2000 JPY you can have a pretty decent meal. I ordered duck dish and it was well cooked and season. The pork lunch menu is also very good. Gets very busy so go early or reserve in advance. Great place for an affordable date.

An Italian restaurant located in Nishi-Shinjuku, I dined here for lunch on the recent national holiday with a group of friends from boxercise. 🥊

With room for over 80 people, it has a bustling, lively atmosphere, friendly staff and offers great value. There is an large open kitchen where you can watch the chefs in action from the popular counter seats. 👨🏻‍🍳

Taking advantage of a free glass of sparkling wine (all you need to do is follow them on Instagram), we each chose our starters, main & dessert and chatted excitedly about the boxercise lesson we had just completed. 🥂

The food was good, especially the roast duck breat, which was tender & moist, with plenty of seasonal vegetables to add different texture and flavours. 🦆

I was also lucky to sample their oven-baked lasagne, which is a huge portion containing roasted vegetables, homemade bolognese & bechamel sauce. 🫑🍆🥔🥕

Even if you have a big appetite, it is likely that you will be satisfied by the volume of food served up by this lunch course! 😋

The only complaint was that the timing of the dishes was a little bit off (starters took too long, but then the main dishes came immediately after). However it was really busy so I can imagine the kitchen was backed up... 😅

If you are looking for a decent Italian lunch in the Shinjuku area, then Quarto is highly recommended! Be sure to reserve in advance. 📲

I was very disappointed in this restaurant.

The service took an hour to bring a steak, I previously asked very well done and they bring it almost raw, after an hour! It took another 30 minutes to bring it.

It took half an hour in a simple spaghetti, times were excessive.

The taste was average, nothing special and the prices are a bit higher.

I will never go back.
