We selected Ukai-tei Roppongi for lunch because it offered a ¥9,900 lunch menu with fewer courses than other Ukai-tei locations, which would mean a shorter meal. Our goal was wagyu beef and didn't care for anything else. We believe Ukai-tei offers a premium selection and the steak would be expertly prepared. We had scheduled a second lunch with friends for that day so this was perfect.

Regrettably, we discovered from our waiter that the beef was wagyu rump, not tenderloin or sirloin, but it was too late to change it because the meal was prepared after our online booking, which required pre-selecting a menu. The English version of the booking page was not specific on the part of the cut. Fortunately, the wagyu rump was outstanding.

It was an great experience that words cannot describe. I took some photos that I'd like to share with you!

Dining here was an absolute treat! We had one of the private rooms and had the chance to watch the chef cook for us - he shared that he’s been with the restaurant for 17 years! Everything was great but I especially loved the Hokkaido crab somen and the steak. Dessert was served in a separate room too. Would really recommend coming here if you’re looking for a special experience!

Amazing experience worth the price! We went there with my husband as our anniversary, but we didn’t mentioned it when booking the lunch. The lovely staff just asked us if we have any special reason for dinner at their restaurant and 15min after we’ve mentioned about our special day we’ve got a beautiful sushi place, decorated with our anniversary message, flowers and picture of us celebrating!!! Amazing 🙏😍

The food was super tasty with amazing presentation created by the Matsumoto san Chef 🙏

Interior is super well decorated with the calming zen atmosphere...

Highly recommended for real foodies and Japanese design lovers!!!

An absolute delight. Worth every dollar - the experience, the food and the service. The chef was very knowledgeable and really takes care to curate the food. It was art not just food. Highly highly recommended. They also have Mont Blanc parfait dessert - soooo good. Book ahead.
