Small sushi restaurant run by a sweet older couple. We ordered a sushi set and chirashi bowl. Both were carefully hand crafted in front of us and were delicious, as were the side dishes and clam miso soup. Seems like a local spot, very authentic.

There were about 3 groups in there, but luckily I was able to sit at the counter.

I couldn't be more satisfied.

Later, I went to have a nigiri lunch for 2500 yen.
The chef was busy putting wasabi on the spot and putting it on the sushi rice. I'm impressed.
(Some reviews said there was too much wasabi, but I didn't feel it at all.)
First up was the tuna tekkamaki.
It's simple and delicious. The bowl was also made with red bean soup.
Next was a nigiri of true tsubu, but the toppings were so big that you couldn't see the shari! Sweet and delicious!
Rainy season sardines are served with ginger and kabosu.
The final dish was Conger-kun.
I somehow received 8 different types of nigiri.
Shari is small.

This seems to be run by a couple, so I think it's a restaurant where you can go alone or with a small group of people.
The number of seats is also small. I think it would be better to make a reservation if there are more than two people.

This is a so-called town sushi restaurant that I had been interested in for some time, located along the road leading from Nukibenten to Shinjuku. This time I visited for lunch.

Looking at the menu outside, I think the first half of one nigiri used to be 1,700 yen, but now it's 2,000 yen. It can't be helped given the current situation.

Inside the store, there are counter and table seats, and the owner, who is quite elderly, is in the middle of everything. A woman who appeared to be his wife guided me to a counter seat.

When I asked for a handful for each person, a large bamboo leaf was placed in front of me. It's rare to have a whole piece of rice served at lunch, but I haven't come across a restaurant like this in a while where they serve it on top of bamboo leaves.

Now, after the squid, mekabu salad, and oden-style stew are served, the nigiri begins.

After the lean tuna and fatty tuna are served, they offer stone sea bream, mackerel, whelk shellfish, sweet shrimp, bonito, and more.

It's typical town sushi with a small amount of sushi and a large topping, but the sushi is just the right amount of firmness and melts in your mouth.

The downside was that the toppings were a little cold, but it was delicious.

I wonder if I'll come again.
