Ethiopia

I found this place on Tablelog, the high reviews and comments about the unique curry flavour sparked my interest. After a short wait in queue a friendly lady greeted us and led us to a vending machine where we ordered our meals. The curry served was spicy and delicious quite unique for the area in Tokyo. There was a strong taste of cardamom and clove, I ordered the spiciness level 40 out of 70 and it was pretty damn good, although it could possibly have been a bit spicier. We had a side order of green salad which was absolutely fantastic, then unexpectedly we were served a bowl of chocolate ice cream as we were finishing our bowl of delicious curry.

Is Ethiopia known for curry? As far as I can tell this is somewhere between typical Japanese ("European") and Indian curry. It's pretty good, but not sure I'd go out of my way for it. There was barely any meat in it.

It's on that block where literally every single restaurant is a curry shop. They seem to get long lunch lines but are a little less busy at dinner time.

Strangely, they were blasting Fox News radio in English the entire time I was there.

Definitely 5 stars. Taste great, large servings, and reasonably priced.
I am not sure of why the name of the restaurant is Ethiopia, as their curry is mixed style of Japanese curry and Indian curry. What's good is that curry comes with steamed potatoes and ice cream.
