Ganso Mentainikomi Tsukemen

I really enjoyed it. It deserves the 5 stars.

The restaurant is slightly hidden away down a narrow hallway and past the elevator. Follow the stairs up to the second floor. I first noticed the traditional Japanese music and the indoor woodwork. No wait. I was seated immediately. Once you're greeted, you'll pick up a small wooden tab that shows how much noodles you want. I was served quickly and efficiently. Let's be real, you're here for the mentaiko. You can choose your spiciness level or add spicy paste to your liking. It comes with rice but I asked them to hold it, 200g noodles was enough for me.

The noodles were fresh and thick, and the broth was extremely enjoyable. The broth came in its own heated pot with a lid. They served a tea that had a rich flavor, I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. I had added in two eggs and some pork as add ons. Tsukemen is a different take on traditional ramen eating. It's fun to dip noodles every once in a while. I'd definitely come back again!

One of my favorite foods in Japan -dipping noodles. Very unique way of eating ramen. Choose the portion size first and spicy level at entrance. They only offer few items on the menu, and it makes ordering very straightforward. Although it's nice to understand unique way of enjoying the food so I suggest using Google translate.

There is a slight difference with each item, such as cold or hot noodles, dessert or no dessert. So take your time studying the menu or read reviews before ordering.

It's not cheap so make sure you make the most out of this experience. The staff is very attentive and helpful. They speak very little English, but since the menu is not complicated, communicating shouldn't be an issue.

One of the best tsukemen place I found in Tokyo. (The other good place is Mammoth in Shibuya).
It is pricier than other places but the soup has lots of cod roe eggs in it so even though it’s prob the left over cut which are generally sold cheaper it doesn’t matter for this dish & it’s a alright price imo.
Pudding was surprisingly good too lol
