I had a solo dinner here in June. Booked the restaurant last minute through imperial hotel and I was welcomed, so I would say if you need a teppanyaki table and you are not local, then maybe try calling this place?

Generally speaking the staff here are experienced and traditional, they can speak English and also give you the local level high standard service.

I ordered a special wagyu steak (set price about jpy30,000?), the chef recommended me medium rare but I usually want medium so I asked for medium ->turned out to be like medium well - well done, which tasted also not bad, but if you also visit this restaurant maybe just go for medium rare (just listen to chef)…

The restaurant is not high floor, so if you look for a dinner with view, then maybe another place.

I had an absolutely terrible experience at Hama Ginzate Steak House. The food was shockingly bad, especially considering Japan’s reputation for exceptional cuisine and respect for customers. The service was the worst I have ever seen—completely unprofessional and inattentive. The management was unbelievably rude, which is unacceptable in a country known for its politeness and respect. The staff, including the waiters, made no effort to improve my experience.

Awful experience at Hama Ginzate Steak House. The food was bland and disappointing, but what truly ruined the visit was the rude and unprofessional management. The service was chaotic, and the staff didn’t seem to care about the customers at all. For a restaurant in Japan, where hospitality is usually impeccable, this place was a huge letdown. I would never recommend it to anyone.

i have traveled a lot of places in the world and i can certainly say that japan is one of the most respected countries in the world but this restaurant had one of the rudest personels and worse than that was the manager of the restaurant. probably they have this behavior just with the tourists. but i highly recommend if you are a tourist and if you went to this restaurant never expect respect from the personels. january of 2025
