Harukiya Honten

For all the English users out there.
A lot of the reviews in Japanese say that the cashier is a nasty old woman who is condescending to her staff and customers. They are correct. Maybe when she passes away I will return again. Food is average and expensive.

Best Ramen in town!

A short walk from Ogikubo Station
It doesn't look like a long-established store from the outside, but it's delicious!
I prefer this one to that super super famous store along the highway.
Is the noodles boiled over there these days? And the shiitake flavor became stronger (this is just my personal opinion)
The price too...

They also have Japanese soba noodles, which are also delicious.
The roots are the same as that famous store, the trademark triangular seaweed is proof

There is a small rise inside the store, and there are large tables and individual table seats.
It's more relaxing here

Founded in 1930! The oldest restaurant in Tokyo where you can eat ramen!

After completing my errands in Ogikubo, I searched for a place to eat lunch and found this ``Harukiya Honten''.
There is also Haruki-ya in front of the station, but that seems to be a restaurant run by a relative, so the menu seems to be completely different.
Harukiya Honten was founded in 1933, so the name has been preserved for over 90 years!
I can feel the history.
It opened at 11am on Sunday, so there wasn't a line to get in, but by the time we left, about 80% of the seats were occupied.
Of course, I ordered Chinese noodles (800 yen), which was labeled as the oldest existing Tokyo ramen, mini broiled rice bowl (550 yen), and bottled beer lol
The rice bowl arrived in about 6 minutes from the time of ordering. Simple Chinese noodles. . . As you get older, you end up with simple things like this lol!
The proprietress, who only accepted cash payments, was so kind to me even though it was my first visit, and she treated me like a regular customer, which made me happy!

Ramen at Ogikubo on the way home from the drive. I visited the original home of that famous store for the first time. Two groups of customers arrived after 5pm on weekends. Like Marucho and Marunobu, this was originally a soba restaurant. Along with ``Chinese soba,'' there is a mix of menu items such as ``Coarse ground soba,'' ``Hakutsuru,'' and ``Itawasa.'' The proprietress is sitting at the register at the entrance and has a nice atmosphere. If you order chashu noodles, it's the real deal. The clear soup is deep and goes well with the hand-made fine curly noodles. Japanese flavor. The exquisite item is the rare pink chargrilled pork. Large, soft and delicious! Branch family? It's hard to decide. I was very satisfied lol
