I couldn't pass on the opportunity to try some Omakase during my trip to Japan. Based on a friend's recommendation, I booked a table at Sushiya Ichiyamagi, which has held 1 Michelin star for many years (until 2020). We opted for the ¥19,306 lunch set that includes appetizers and sushi. The sushi master at Sushiya Ichiyamagi is known for serving sushi with warm rice, which is adjusted to the temperature of the accompanying fish. This was my first time trying warm rice sushi, and I was blown away by the experience (it was delicious!). Each plate was served with utmost care, and the texture of the fish ranged from extremely tender tuna to firmer squid, adding to the overall experience. I loved every moment of dining at Sushiya Ichiyamagi.

High quality sushi with one of the most perfect tasting rice and divine tamago (tasted like egg custard! I asked for a second helping). Too bad for rushed service, so I won't rush to go back and can't give 5 stars. I had the highest quality 17 pieces sushi course and my companion had the sashimi combination. If you are curious to try, best pick her course, featured some eclectic dishes plus about 10 served on my better sushi were also in her course. A tad disappointed maybe coz I had too high expectation since he led his previous restaurant to one michelin star...
