January 2024
First visit to celebrate my mother's birthday.
I made a reservation for the lunch-only Shunsai course 3 days in advance. I was told that the last seat for two people can be reserved between 12:00 and 14:00, so I was glad that I was able to make a reservation at the last minute. I was surprised that it was so fully booked even on a weekday, and my expectations were high.
Also, the phone calls were very polite and pleasant.
Shunsai course 3,850+660=4,510 yen
(Upgraded to shark fin soup)
We arrived a little before 12:00 and were shown to our seats.
I was guided to a sofa seat in a semicircle. Since I had made a last-minute reservation, I thought I'd have no choice but to take any seat, but I was very happy to be seated on the sofa. There were other empty seats, so maybe the sofa seat was the last seat available.
From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was delicious and I finished the meal beautifully, but the portions of everything were very small...When I looked at the customer base, I thought that the customer base was older, so perhaps the portions were just right for the elderly. I don't know. In fact, my mother said she was full. I was far from full and wanted to eat one more item from the a la carte, but I held back.
This time there were only two of us, so we had the course meal, but next time we'll have the whole family and I'd like to order a la carte and try a variety of different dishes.
The food, atmosphere, and customer service were perfect, and it was a restaurant that I would want to use again.
