We just stumbled upon this restaurant, didn't know how much of a gem it was. The restaurant specializes in juwari soba. Most soba noodles are made from a combination of buckwheat and wheat flour, but Juwari Soba Noodles are made from 100% buckwheat flour.

We ordered the duck soba and the tempura soba. Both were heavenly. Will definitely be back

I went to Juwari Soba Duck Ryori Naraya near the east exit of Ikebukuro Station.
The stylish tableware and utensils lined up in front of the store caught my eye, and the exterior had a modern atmosphere that made it hard to believe that it was a soba restaurant.
I visited at night, and it was more crowded than I expected, so I made a reservation.

Here, we had a wide range of duck menus, including grilled duck thighs and boiled dumplings.
The duck thigh in particular had just the right amount of elasticity, and the more I bit into it, the richer it became.
I liked that there were ways to change the taste according to your preference, such as adding salt and yuzu pepper, so you could eat it without getting bored.
There are also other menu items that use liver pate and duck neck meat, so you can enjoy the differences between each part.
Duck as an ingredient is used in a variety of dishes, so it's a great lineup for duck lovers!

The soba here was only 100% full, and although it was thin, I could feel the firm texture and scent of soba.
Another attractive feature is that there are many types of dipping sauces, such as duck bamboo steamer and sesame sauce steamer.
When I ordered the duck steamer, the duck fat melted into the warm soup, which went well with the soba and was very satisfying.
Also, you can choose the dry version of the sesame sauce, so it can be enjoyed by both those who prefer a refreshing taste and those who prefer a rich flavor.
The restaurant also served soba hot water to finish off the meal, allowing you to enjoy the flavor of the soba until the very end!
