Shoan Description
Located just a 4-minute walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station, Shoan is a hidden gem where sophisticated adults gather to indulge in delicious soba and exquisite small plates. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Araki-cho, amidst a row of dining establishments, Shoan offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere that will make you want to come back again and again.
What sets Shoan apart is their commitment to using high-quality, traditional soba made from locally sourced buckwheat, which is ground in-house using a stone mill. The result is a fragrant and flavorful soba that is served freshly made with a dipping sauce made from aged bonito flakes. Please note that soba is only available after 10 PM, and on Saturdays and holidays, it is available after 6 PM.
In addition to their exceptional soba, Shoan also offers a wide selection of regional sake and seasonal small plates that perfectly complement the flavors of the soba. Whether you're dining alone or with a group, Shoan provides a warm and welcoming environment where you can enjoy a memorable dining experience. Don't miss their recommended seasonal ingredient course, which features carefully selected ingredients by the chef, or their indulgent tasting course that allows you to savor the best of their small plates and soba. For a truly unique and satisfying meal, Shoan is the place to be.

The soba kaiseki restaurant that has been around in Araki-cho for about 10 years? A Japanese restaurant.
The owner is very friendly and explains the dishes carefully.
The dishes made with the best ingredients were wonderful.
Especially blowfish! It's so plump that it can't be compared to any liver I've ever eaten!
The meat is firm and has a great texture and flavor.
The selection of sake was also good.
I want to go again.

I made a reservation for dinner. Delicious food prepared with care and delicious drinks. It's a shame that my time at this restaurant is so short, but I'd like to have a leisurely meal after the lockdown is lifted.
