Sushiyamaken Shinjuku Higashiguchiten

Probably one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in terms of cost performance, quality, service, and food. We got the course meal with all you can eat maguro and all you drink for about ¥10000 per person. The sushi was very delicious. Highly recommended.

A reservation is needed, but we were able to secure one for a party of 4. It was a 16 course meal and then all you can eat tuna. The courses consist of small bites/appetizers. For example, a bowl of miso or a small ikuradon. A plate of 4 nigiris(salmon,sea bream,tuna, and squid) would count as 4 courses.
After the courses, you can order tuna by the piece in sashimi, nigiris, or roll form.
You can not ask for specific cuts so we expected to receive mostly lean cuts. However we received a good mix of chutoro and maguro. We even got a few pieces of ootoro nigiris. All the fish was fresh and of good quality. The rice is well seasoned as well and each piece was balanced so it did not feel like too much rice for the fish.
We had some trouble ordering at first but that is our fault for not knowing enough Japanese. Our waitress was very nice and used her personal phone to help translate to English for us. If you are a foreigner like us, please do not expect them to know English or other language that is not Japanese as they cater mostly to locals.
Please note there is a mandatory drink purchase as well when getting the course. We ordered the sours and shouchus, which were very easy to drink.
Course meal itself was 6400. After the drinks, tax(10%) and service fee(5%), it was closer to 8300 per person. Overall, a great deal and a good experience, would highly recommend.

For ¥7000， drink not included, we get 16 courses, after that you can order what you like, maguro of good quality, chef very friendly, we are overall satisfied and would come back next time in Shinjiku
