Tokutoku

This izakaya is located about 4-5 minutes walk from Shimokitazawa Station and is famous for its teppanyaki and oden. A friend of mine had been there before and said the oden was delicious, so we went there for the second time on Saturday night.

When we arrived around 8pm, the restaurant was full. It was a pretty cold day, but there were people sitting outside!
Just to be sure, I called in advance on the day before going, but it turned out to be a good idea.

This time, in addition to oden, there were other delicious dishes that caught my eye.
The appetizer cost ¥300 and was a seasoned quail egg.

Oden is very cheap at ¥100~! A gentle flavored oden made with chin soup stock.
We had chikuwabu, ganmo, and satsumaage from the ¥100 menu, and fish balls and konnyaku from the ¥150 menu. I was surprised that nerimono was cheaper than konnyaku! lol

Another thing I liked was the grilled chicken with Japanese pepper! It was reasonably priced at ¥680, but there were 6 slices, and the Japanese pepper was quite tangy and went well with the alcohol.

However, the food was good value and I was very satisfied, but when I ordered a highball for the drink, it was a Dewar's, which was good, but it was quite thin... I had a homemade fruit sour for my second drink and it was delicious. However, the alcohol taste was also modest lol
Beer or sake might be a good option at this shop.

This time I was too full to order, but from my seat at the counter I could see the squid being grilled on a griddle and it looked so delicious that I would definitely like to try it next time!

After 3:30 pm, after doing some business in Shimokitazawa, I decided to grab a quick drink, so I wandered around waiting and saw the oden menu sign and decided to visit.

I ordered the 60-minute all-you-can-drink Japanese sake, which I sampled from the drink menu.

Above all, this is the best!
Great compatibility with Ajidashi Oden! I ended my visit to Shimokitazawa for the first time in decades with a sense of gratitude and joy for being able to visit such a wonderful shop!

Visited for the second time. I took a seat at the counter as instructed by the master.
The store is spacious and clean. Inside the counter is the owner, an iron plate, and an oden pot.
All the dishes are delicious. Oden is light and refreshing. The ingredients are plentiful and delicious.
The dandy master is austere, but he occasionally shows a nice smile, and I'm sure he'll treat you kindly once you get to know him.
Since it was a one-off operation, I was concerned about waiting for food when the restaurant was nearly full, but I was able to spend the day stress-free and comfortably.

I would like to visit again when I'm nearby.
