I asked the waitress for the chef's recommendation. Got a fish/vegetable tempura set. Food itself was good but service was strange. They decided to serve a big group of people who came after rather than my small group of 2 who had already ordered. Aside from that, they were attentive and worked through language barriers.

It was one of the best meals I had in Japan. The food was amazing and affordable, and the atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were so kind and welcoming, and the view of the lake was incredible.

Good food, tempura, soba etc. Decent enough prices. My beef rice was a bit heavy on the rice, but that's often the case in Japan. Great view too.
