Botani:curry Description

Botani:Curry in Honmachi is a culinary gem that any curry enthusiast visiting Osaka should have on their must-visit list. This charming eatery opens its doors only about twice a month, creating an air of anticipation that's well worth the wait. The uniqueness of Botani:Curry lies in its carefully crafted menu, featuring an exquisite selection of curry dishes that will leave your taste buds tingling with delight.
One of their standout offerings, the 'Botani:Curry x Shrimp Aigake,' is a true masterpiece of flavors. The spice-based roux, expertly balanced with a combination of chicken stock and onions, results in a thick, rich curry base that's absolutely delectable. The shrimp, prepared with a seafood-based soup stock roux, complements the curry beautifully without overpowering its spiciness. What sets this curry apart are the artful vegetable toppings that accompany it. These veggies, resembling an oil painting, play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience. When mixed with the curry, they create a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate.
Don't be fooled by the portion size – even the regular serving is generous, making it a wise choice for those who appreciate a hearty meal. If you have the chance, aim to arrive before 12:00 to savor the 'Aigake' experience. With the intricate blend of spices, carefully prepared roux, and the tantalizing mix of vegetables, Botani:Curry is a place where flavors come together like a well-composed masterpiece. This enchanting eatery is a delightful destination for curry aficionados in Osaka, where the art of curry-making truly shines.

I stumbled upon this spot, when I was searching a for a more traditional Japanese curry establishment and I'm so happy I did. I ordered the botani and shrimp curry combination plate (spicy) with an egg and extra pickles. The plate didn't have much meat or shrimp in it, but the curry was super flavorful and I savored every single bite. Definitely built up a little sweat from the spice, but it was nicely balanced with the pickled veggies and rice.
