It was the first time I had to que before I had a seat at this restaurant. The wait wasn’t too bad, but I was so hungry I had to try their set.
If you like their plates, try their other restaurants in Kyoto, some are fancy, some have great ambience, but everything tastes Kyoto.

Read the English menu but ended up going for the special that wasn't on there. Pretty sure it was red snapper sashimi on a bed of sushi rice. The lemon juice/sauce that came with it worked incredibly well with the fish and rice. I probably did myself a disservice by adding it to the noodles as they tasted great on their own

Had chazuke set meal and my personal preference is chazuke from the other stall right outside this restaurant.
However their mackerel sushi was very delicious! Highly recommend you to try as this dish is local to this region. If you are short in time, take out is available too.
The line was long when we came around 1 pm weekend, we took number from the machine and waited about 15 minutes.
Location of this restaurant is above JR shinkansen train station, iSetan collection of restaurants/food.
They have English menu, staffs were kind and helpful despite language barrier. I may come back to try something else.
However their mackerel sushi was very delicious! Highly recommend you to try as this dish is local to this region. If you are short in time, take out is available too.
