Hakata Genki Ippai!!

The pork soup here is exceptionally thick and flavorful. Expect a bit of a wait, as the restaurant's small size often leads to long lines. However, the delicious food makes the wait worthwhile. Orders are placed while you're in line, but you have the flexibility to add extra toppings as you dine. I highly recommend trying it with curry for an extra burst of flavor.

It was an experience trying out the Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen. Arrived at 11:15am on 31st Dec, and got in after about an hour's wait.

It is thick, tasty and filling. Was a good bowl in the midst of a cold day in Fukuoka.

Overall, I felt it was a 5.5, that elevated to a 6.5 with the curry roux, so definitely get the roux if you're trying it out.

Wood ears seem to be a local favourite, but I'd just get a char siew bowl.

Was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. But our initial plan for another restaurant fell through and this restaurant was very close so we decided to give it a try. We were so glad that we did!

The restaurant was a little difficult to spot as it looked like any other houses and the door was closed. But we did notice the small blue bucket hanging near the entry which signified that the restaurant is open. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted by the staff and owner.

It’s a no-nonsense ramen restaurant serving up quality ramen. The restaurant specialises in tonkotsu ramen featuring the creamiest broth and generous portions of ingredients (pork and wood ear) for a very affordable price. We were surprised at how opaque the soup broth was and how clean it tasted. It is on the fatty side so it is quite very filling.

We both agree is the best tonkotsu ramen we have had to date.
