Hitoyoshi Onsen Nabeya

Absolutely stunning hotel! Clean, classy, and contemporary.

Service was impeccable, extremely friendly and accommodating. My room was spacious, with tatami design, and generous amenities. I also had a river view which was beautiful; I loved falling asleep to the sounds of the river.

My favourite part of the stay was the access to Nabeya's natural onsen. The water was excellent and the sauna was a fantastic addition.

My only recommendation is to add some more vegetarian/ vegan options for breakdas/ dinner.

I would definitely visit again, and highly recommend anyone else to stay too!

This modern onsen hotel is newly renovated after the Kuma river flooding next to her. I choose the Japanese Western style room which is newly furnished, very roomy, and have the the spectacular river view. It is relaxing to hear the water flowing on the Kuma River, but kind of sad seeing the destruction she bought. When we checked in we were served with welcome drinks, and the staff helped us check in when we enjoy the drink. Service is polite and cosy. Onsen is very clean and new. The water is pure and not diluted. The real surprise is the dinner. We had our first Japanese Western onsen dinner and my wife and I were impressed by the fine ingredients and the French cooking style of the chef mastered. The amuse bouche is a mushroom tart and one can tell from the mushroom texture it is top notch. The fish dishes are very tender and skin is crunchy. The main is top quality cut of beef shoulder cooked medium rare. The style is French but flavour is traditional Japan (Unami). The cooking and service is definitely Michelin worthy. I definitely recommend Nabeya onsen when coming to Hitoyoshi, and definitely try their western style menu again if I come next time.

Wonderful staff, all very friendly and helpful. They helped us booking a boat trip on the river and with transport around town and to the station. Room had good views of the river and was clean. The hotel baths were nice too.

The best summer ever. Clean, beautiful hotel with great food, great staff. I went there for Natsume yuujincho, they helped me to arrange a lot of route. And, free bicycle for borrow. Thinking about going back there.

Excellent service and delicious Japan traditional dinner, we are lucky to get free Soy source when hotel celebrates 190 years anniversary. It’s classic, traditional but nice hotel.
