Passed by this small eatery one night after work, I was told by my Japanese colleague this place is popular. So I decided to visit on my last day at Kanda. It is conveniently located across Grand Central Hotel. I was so glad to chance by this shop. I ordered a small tan tan udon (which already includes an onsen tamago), an extra onsen tamago unknowingly and their 赤天.
Food was served promptly, staff was attentive and warm.
They are thoughtful to provide dashi for customer to customise their sauce. The tan tan meat sauce is flavourful and their shichimi brings the udon to new dimension. It was really yummy! I hope to try out their kake udon and ika geso tempura when I return to Kanda again. It was a wonderful experience dining in.
Oh yes I went in at about 11:10am. Avoid the queues and arrive earlier 👍🏻

An open and airy, humble noodle joint specializing in “Sanuki udon”. This local favorite serves up bowls of slippery carb in bonito broth or curry sauce with your choice of toppings.
A meal can be had for 750 yen. Pay for your order at the ticket machine by the entrance… everything is in Japanese though. If you don’t read Japanese, I’d suggest you ask for an English menu. I used Google Translate since I already know what I wanted.

So delicious. Even though I messed up and ordered way more food than I needed. I meant to order curry udon and add meat but ended up with both a curry udon and meat udon. But still everything was delicious even though I could not finish it. Curry udon for the win. Definitely order this. I believe they have two locations but this one has no queue on a Tuesday afternoon
