The location is super good with a minute walk distance to Kyoto station.

GRILLED FISH IS VERY HOT BUT ITS DRIED (I believe it's just warmed up using microwave as there was no crispy taste at all).

All of foods are in good presentation but missing something. The rice is too small in terms of volume. Most of the foods are in small portions which ends up with miserable or emptiness as the price is not so reasonable.

The service is just normal being busy at all time.

We visited several Japanese Restaurants but found the menu at Kyoto Suishin most appealing. We ordered Salmon Roll Sushi, Pork Loin Cutlet, Mackerel Sushi, Unagi and Rice. Food tasted mediocre for a Japanese Restaurant but the service was very good, attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere was rated only a 3 out of 5 probably because there was a group of 5 Thais seated at the next table and the voice of one of the male members in the group was so loud with a pitch that is painful to the human ear. I guess he did not eat that much as he was talking throughout most of the dinner ! There are probably better Japanese restaurants around Kyoto.

The sushi was very good but the fried/tempura was just ok. We did ala carte and didn't feel anything was exceptionally expensive.

Can't comment on the sets, they were full or didn't have them available at ~1730 on a Monday. With that said, there was no wait and very fast service. Order via tablet and your food appears by magic (or chefs and staff who deserve the credit).

Sushi and shami get high marks. Fried oysters, I wouldn't recommend.

Great restaurant. Sushi/yakitori/miso soup/makrel all excellent. Price was also good for a restaurant in the centre. Would definitely recommend!

Don’t eat here. It’s a tourist trap. The worst sashimi and sushi’s I’ve had in my life. Don’t be fooled by the price. They cut 1 slice to 2.
