Meganemaru

We had the "Umai-don" as part of the Donburi Gassen event in Feb. It was a moderately sized portion and tasted great! We also tried a few other things: Summer mandarin juice (very sour, fizzy) - nice, tokoroten (local cold noodle) - very refreshing and nice, sazae sashimi (big turban shell) - very hard and chewy but tasted fresh. The only thing I would recommend avoiding is the sazae in butter - it was insanely bitter and difficult to eat, possibly because it was stewed together with some part of the liver or something that is very bitter.
Other tables all ordered the aji namerou don and the ika-yaki, I'd try that next time.
If you're coming, I would recommend speed walking here immediately after getting off the ferry, because it was the only restaurant that constantly had a long queue outside!

A lovely teishoku restaurant that has an assortment of seafood dishes. I opted for the seafood donburi, which consisted of several fish options. There was mejina, which was seasonal at the time, and it all was delicious. The grilled squid was really good too. Seemed to be family run and the folks there were super nice. Check it out when you’re on the island.

I saw it on TV and went to Meganemaru, which I had always wanted.
I went there because I wanted to eat grilled squid liver.
It was more delicious than I imagined, and I think we should have ordered one plate each.
Is it the soy sauce that is already on both the Namero-don and the Squid-don? It was delicious.
I still looked like I could eat it, so I ordered some grilled turban shells and butter-grilled abalone (market price)!
When I finished eating, my father said, ``Wait a minute,'' and cleared away the plates, but I wondered if he was waiting for me to pay. When I thought about it, she made risotto with the leftover butter from the abalone and brought it to me, and I was really impressed by how delicious it was.
If I go to Hatsushima again, I will go to Meganemaru next time! It's really delicious!

I took the first boat in the morning to Hatsushima, walked around the island, and then entered this shop. I had decided from the beginning that I would take the last boat home, so I had a drink. Drinking sake in the morning while looking out at the sea is the best!

Fried horse mackerel The batter is thick, but it's piping hot and delicious.

Tokoroten The Tokoroten made in Hatsushima was really delicious.
