It's a good place for breakfast before you start exploring Nara. They served decent claypot rice, it's a bit healthier compare to other Japanese foods because of lesser oil, and more natural ingredients

An authentic local place serving kamameshi, which is a kind of boiled rice dish, similar to the Chinese or Korean stonepot rice bowls. There is a certain method to eating it which the waitress was able to explain clearly in English.

The flavours were delicate and they serve their dishes with local naruzake pickles which I had wanted to try.

The restaurant was popular with locals. We were the only tourists in about 20 diners at the time.

It was a 15 minute wait at 11am but the line was over twice as long when we left. There is another main store over at Nara Park which is a 15 minute bus trip away.

About 10 minutes walk from Nara Train Station.

No queue and got seated right away.

Have choices of seating (chair or tatami)

Environment is warm and welcoming.

Ordered two set lunch. Its quite delicious but we could not finish them as the portion of rice was a bit too much.

For those who wants to visit Nara park, there is another branch near the park.
