It was in the evening after 5pm. There was no foodstores opened in the area except them. I barged into the shop and ask if there is anything I can takeout as I didn't had lunch. They hurriedly prepared a bento for me to takeout as I rush for the bus. They were so nice and friendly. The bento was delicious too. The ingredients were local vegetables and meat patty like homemade food. おばあちゃんたち、ほんとにありがとうございました!

A 20 seater cozy eatery owned by 3 friendly and adorable grannies. :) They serve 1 set meal only and probably switch up the dishes daily. It's very filling, deliciously homemade, and costs only 750 yen (9 Singapore dollars). I'd recommend this lovely eatery to anyone in Hitoyoshi!

Homemade-flavor food with very good taste and cheap price. Restaurant do not have menu and only provide single set dish everyday. Restaurant was full of local people and owners were nice.

Pulled in for lunch on a whim during a road trip and... Wow!!! One of the best culinary experiences I've had in Japan. There's only one 定食 menu, but don't worry about it. Just know it'll be a massive, gorgeous display of absolutely delish dishes. To top it off, it's served by a few adorable and talkative elderly folks who really take Japanese service to the next level. I need a reason to come back here!
