Fumichan Nagarekawa-ten

We waited about 30 minutes in line outside but it was totally worth it!
We ordered soba okonomiyaki and beer and everything was very tasty.
It was very interesting watching the chefs cook the food in front of us.

Really cool spot to eat. If you are lucky, the will seat you at the bar. You will be able to see the whole okonomiyaki production. Also, your food is served to you on the grill keeping it warm and adding that little extra crisp to the noodles. The staff is very efficient and good at what they do.

First time in Hiroshima, but I had to find “real” okonomiyaki - and walked a kilometer to Fumichan based on good reviews. They were right, it’s great! Staff were very helpful, even though this feels like a local spot rather than a tourist place. I explained I’d eat anything and asked for their recommendation, and it was the basic soba okonomiyaki at ¥800. I didn’t get extras because I wanted a baseline experience, but the Fumichan Special looked great. Anyway my dish was cooked and served on the stove in front of me, and was delicious. If you’re at the counter you’ll be expected to cut the dish with one small spatula, but it works, just stick with it. Perfect with draft beer. That basic soba okono was a filling meal, but I’ll try some toppings next time.
