Chavaty Kyoto Arashiyama

Had a pleasant experience enjoying scones and a cold, refreshing drink at CHAVATY. The most memorable experience is most probably being served by this kind looking woman (aged around 40+) because she tried her best to convey her thoughts and guide us through the menu with her limited English. It was very cute and refreshing to see such a hardworking server!

We tried the seasonal drink (Cherry Cola) and scone set (strawberry and normal) alongside a strawberry butter spread with mixed nut spread, which were both recommended by the said server.

Atmosphere is very calm as it was away from the bustling Arashiyama street just right across the river. Got to enjoy the AC during the hot summer heat.

We visited this cafe after our early dinner and it’s great and relaxing. We came at around 4:30-5pm so there were less people. No waits, beverages were tasty and on the bigger size which we appreciated ❤️.

A very charming and calming cafe with great hojicha latte, matcha milk and particularly delicious matcha ice cream.

Price is premium, but we felt it was worth it.

Would recommend the floor seating at the back, and the cold drinks (as the portion seemed considerably larger than the hot drinks)!
