This was and will likely continue to be the benchmark for the highest degree of food gastronomy we will ever have the luxury of partaking.

Thank you for ruining food for us forever - the bar has been raised too high after this meal. Would be ecstatic to dine here again; however, the wallet puts up a strong argument against this.

Kyoto Kicho Arashiyama was one of the most special dining experiences we’ve ever had. A 3 Michelin star restaurant will always have super high expectations and we were still very impressed.

The intimate ambiance was very peaceful given our room had a view of two small gardens. The presentation of the very unique dishes was very memorable and all delicate flavors of each was excellent. We had fugu for the first time prepared 3-4 different ways, which was delicious. The sake and wine selection was of high quality.

One of the owners also greeted us throughout the meal which made the evening that much more special. The location being near the Arashiyama forest area also lends to a very peaceful, pleasant experience.
